Frequently Asked Questions
What exactly do you do?
We provide independent vehicle sourcing and assessment services, helping you make informed purchasing decisions. Our role is to evaluate vehicles from both a technical and financial perspective, identifying risks, highlighting value, and supporting you in selecting the right car rather than simply any car.
Do you receive commission from dealers or sellers?
No. We operate entirely independently and do not accept referral fees, commissions, or incentives from any third party. Our advice is based solely on your interests.
How are you different from a standard vehicle inspector?
Most services focus on either finding cars quickly or carrying out basic inspections. We take a structured, advisory approach, combining technical assessment with financial consideration. We are not incentivised to sell you a vehicle, only to guide you towards the right decision.
How do I get started?
You can begin by submitting a request through one of our enquiry forms, outlining your requirements or the vehicle you would like assessed. We will take it from there.
When and how do I pay?
Payment links, along with all relevant service details, will be provided after your request has been confirmed. All fees are payable in advance, and work will commence once payment has been received.
What happens if something goes wrong after purchase?
We do not provide warranties or aftercare services. Once the assessment is complete, responsibility for the vehicle rests entirely with you. Our role is to reduce risk before purchase.
Do you carry out invasive mechanical inspections?
No. Our inspections are non-invasive unless explicitly agreed. We do not dismantle components.
Do you help negotiate the price?
Where relevant, we provide guidance on fair market value and highlight condition factors that support negotiation. However, we do not act as independent brokers or guarantee specific price reductions.
Can you guarantee that a vehicle will not have problems?
No. No inspection can eliminate all risk. Vehicles are complex and can develop faults over time. We assess what is visible and known at the time and provide a risk-based view to help you make an informed decision.
What does your inspection actually cover?
This depends on the package selected, but generally includes: mechanical condition based on visible inspection, known model issues, vehicle history review, and an overall risk assessment presented in a structured report.
What if the car is sold before you finish the report?
For Bronze and Silver services, we will provide an alternative assessment/option free of charge. For Gold and Platinum, if a vehicle sells post-inspection, we will help by providing alternative optiuons and discuss reduced rates for subsequent inspections.
How do you determine whether a car is good value?
We consider current market pricing, specification and condition, known reliability factors, and likely future costs including depreciation. This provides a more complete picture than checking price alone.
Why should I trust your judgement?
We combine a genuine passion for vehicles with a structured, engineering-informed approach to assessment. Our independent business model ensures we protect your position, not the seller's. Give us a call if you are unsure, we will talk you through the process.
What information do you need from me?
At a minimum, we need your budget, intended use for the vehicle, and your specific preferences or requirements. The more clarity you provide, the more effective our search and assessment will be.
Do you check service history and mileage?
We review all available documentation provided by sellers and third parties. We verify history where possible but rely on the integrity of official records provided at the time of inspection.
What if you advise me not to buy a car?
That is a valid and often highly valuable outcome. Avoiding a poor purchase can save significantly more than the cost of our service in future repair bills and depreciation loss.
How long does the process take?
Timeframes vary depending on the service level and vehicle availability. We prioritise thoroughness over speed, ensuring each assessment is carried out properly rather than rushed for a deadline. An accelerated option is available for Bronze and Silver Packages, in which we will get your report to within in 1 day of payment.
Are your reports easy to understand?
Yes. While our analysis is highly detailed, our reports are structured to be clear and practical, with defined conclusions and risk indicators to support your final decision-making process.
Is your service worth it for lower value cars?
Our service is most valuable where the financial consequences of getting it wrong are high. The value of this service should be decided on an individual basis.
